APPOINTMENT RESERVATIONS WITH HONG KONG EMBASSY
The appointment booking period for Hong Kong identity card applications at Registration of Persons Offices is twenty-four business days. Applicants are encouraged to schedule an appointment before visiting the embassy offices for services. Prior to visiting the Registration of Persons Offices, you can use online service to schedule an appointment to apply for a Hong Kong smart identity card. This post explains everything you should know prior to utilising the online booking service.
Eligibility
You can use this service if you are:
- young people who must apply for adult identity cards upon reaching the age of 18.
- Children who must apply for juvenile identity cards upon reaching the age of 11.
- Persons whose identity cards have been lost, destroyed, damaged, or defaced
- Persons who wish to amend the particulars printed on their identity cards.

Arrivals from the Mainland under the age of 11 with One-way Permits are required to register for their first Hong Kong identity card at any Registration of Persons Office within 30 days of their 11th birthday.
How to Begin
To schedule an appointment, you must provide the number of your Hong Kong identity card, Hong Kong birth certificate (issued on or after November 6, 1995), or travel document as the identity document number, as well as your date and year of birth.
If you are scheduling an appointment for a kid, please include the child’s identification number. You also have to enter a specific 4-digit enquiry code for subsequent alteration, cancellation or question about your appointment. You may choose an appointment within the next twenty-four working days.
The outcome of a booking is contingent on the quota availability of each office. You may schedule appointments for up to four candidates. Applicants for the same appointment must be at the designated office at the designated time to get a number tag for registration.
When an appointment is made successfully and a reminder is selected, an email will be sent to the specified email address two days prior to the appointment date. You can alter your email address or cancel the appointment reminder at least three days before to the scheduled time.
The earliest available appointment for rescheduling will be on the next business day. Due to the limited appointment quotas, if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please alter or cancel it at least one day in advance. Monday through Friday (except General Holidays)
If the information provided for making an appointment is incorrect, the appointment will be automatically deleted from the system without further notice.
RESERVATION BY PHONE
In addition to the online booking system and the Immigration Department Mobile Application, you can also schedule an appointment by calling (852) 2598 0888, which is a 24-hour telephone booking system.
